Folders Crumple your expectations up in a ball and throw them in the bin. Folders unfurls in a three-dimensional two-dimensional world, where dancers interact with paper dolls they create. In the end, the dolls and the strange world they inhabit exert more influence on the dancers than they think. Who is creating whom?
Folders introduces eight local teenagers to the world of professional dance. Its paper world is infused with their creativity and energy.
Folders is a community dance project by Laura Murphy. It features the work of visual artist Astrid Walsh, as well as costumes by Siobhan Ni Dhuinnin and a live music score by composer Irene Buckley.
Folders formed part of an evening's work A Dance Brew as part of Laura Murphy's Dancer in Residence programme 2015 at Firkin Crane, Cork.
